  76. 1.4 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

  284.             aluminum alloy with brushed chrome-plated finish;
  285.             wrap-around pilaster and door mounting, through-
  286.             bolted.
  287.         2.  Bottom hinge:  Same as top hinge, with gravity-acting
  288.             cams.
  289.         3.  Latch:  Non-ferrous, satin chrome-plated, slide
  290.             latch, through-bolted.
  291.         4.  Strike and Keeper:  Permitting emergency access by
  292.             lifting the door until latch is clear of keeper;
  293.             satin chrome-plated finish; through-bolted.
  294.         5.  Coat Hook and Bumper:  Non-ferrous, chrome-plated,

  304. PART 3  EXECUTION
  305.  
  306. 3.1 EXAMINATION
  307.  
  308.     A.  Verification of Conditions:
  309.         1.  Measure areas to receive compartments; verify area
  310.             dimensions are in accordance with shop drawings.
  311.         2.  Verify built-in framing, anchorage, bracing, and
  312.             plumbing fixtures are in correct location.
  313.  
  314.     B.  Installer's Examination:
  315.         1.  Have installer of this section examine conditions
  316.             under which construction activities of this section
  317.             are to be performed, then submit written notification
  318.             if such conditions are unacceptable.
  319.         2.  Transmit two copies of installer's report to
  320.             Architect within 24 hr of receipt.
  321.         3.  Beginning construction activities of this section
  322.             before unacceptable conditions have been corrected is
  323.             prohibited.
  324.         4.  Beginning construction activities of this section
  325.             indicates installer's acceptance of conditions.

  327. 3.2 PREPARATION
  328.  
  329.     A.  Surface Preparation:
  330.         1.  Prepare openings in compartment separation partitions
  331.             for toilet and bath accessories to be installed in
  332.             partitions; marring of partition finish is
  333.             prohibited.
  334.         2.  Locate openings in accordance with shop drawings and
  335.             accessory manufacturer's installation instructions
  336.             and templates.
  337.  
  338. 3.3 INSTALLATION
  339.  
  340.     A.  Install compartments to specified tolerances in
  341.         accordance with shop drawings and manufacturer's printed
  342.         installation instructions.
  343.  
  344.     B.  Attach components to adjacent materials and to other
  345.         components using purpose-designed fastening devices.
  346. NOTE ** Delete one of two paragraphs below.
  347.  
  348.     C.  Adjust pilaster anchors for floor variations; conceal
  349.         anchors with pilaster shoes.
  350.  
  351.     D.  Adjust pilaster anchors for floor variations; conceal
  352.         anchors with lower pilaster shoes.  Support pilasters
  353.         from ceiling framing using two adjustable hanging studs;
  354.         for vertical adjustment to level; conceal ceiling
  355.         fasteners with upper pilaster shoes.
  356. NOTE ** The remaining provisions apply to all types of
  357.         compartments in this section.

  359.     E.  Equip each compartment door with top and bottom hinges,
  360.         and door latch.

  375. 3.4 ADJUSTING

  377.     A.  Adjust door hardware for uniform clearance between doors
  378.         and pilasters.

  380.     B.  Adjust door hinges to attain free movement, to locate
  381.         in-swinging doors in partial open position when
  382.         unlatched; and to return out-swinging doors to closed
  383.         position.

  385.     C.  Adjust door hardware to align door strike keeper on each
  386.         pilaster with door latch.

  388. 3.5 PROTECTION OF INSTALLED PRODUCTS
  389.  
  390.     A.  Prevent damage to product finishes by subsequent
  391.         construction activities.
